The Liberty Origin 106 BC 106 takes the same shape from the Origin 106 and incorporates some subtle tweaks to make the ski more appropriate for backcountry use for foot-accessed terrain. Instead of using the standard Bamboo and polar core with a strip of vertically laminated metal, the Origin BC 106 uses Bamboo, Aspen, Cedar and Carbon to provide the same lively and snappy flex patter we’d expect out of a liberty ski while reducing the weight of the ski overall. Often times, with weight reduction comes a sacrifice in downhill performance, but the Origin 106 BC still offers that same responsive and snappy flex offered from Liberty in a lot of their other skis. Camber underfoot ensures solid edge grip in snow conditions that may be less than favorable, while rocker in the tips and tails provides effortless maneuverability and a very undemanding feel. Ski this thing through deep powder, wind-buffed crud, or spring chunder and you’ll find it to float right through all of it with no issues. When you get to the bottom of a line and want to go bag another one, a notch in the tail has been tastefully incorporated into the shape of the ski to make your life easier out in the back country. For skiers that prefer to access their favorite lines by foot, the Liberty Origin 106 BC is a great option that offers uphill efficiency and proper downhill performance.
